Description

Rebalancing

Little is known about the earliest days of qi gong as it is thought to date back 5,000 years, but it was first written about in when the “Yi Jing” (Book of Changes) which appeared in print at the end of the 2nd millennium BC.

Qi means energy and gong means work or practice, so qi gong encompasses any kind of practice that focuses on rebalancing and improving the flow of vital energy.

The style of qi gong that i teach is slow and deliberate, with an emphasis on soft, flowing, repetitive movement and consciously co-ordinated breath. All the major muscle groups are activated and gently stretched by these graceful, focused and fluid movements, so they are suitable for all age groups, and no prior experience is necessary to start.

Easy to learn

Qi gong sets are easy to learn and the emphasis is easy to adjust to serve the individual’s specific needs. Typical sets last between 20 minutes and 1 hour.

One-on-one sessions are suitable for those who would like to develop a personal practice and are unable to attend regular classes, or as a supplement for those that would like to pay more attention to specific areas of their practice.

Testimonials

As a computer specialist  I tend to develop back pains because of bad posture when I am immersed in problem-solving. Don has been of tremendous help in keeping these back pains under control. It has been a great pleasure to be introduced to and educated in qi gong, and he shows great patience when teaching an absolute beginner like me. Don is very adaptable, adjusting to me being bright-eyed and bushy-tailed or sleepy and not ready to move. He combines shiatsu with qi gong in order to support the client in achieving optimum balance, and his sessions always leave me feeling energised and refreshed. Don is is one of the most dedicated professionals I have met in a long time. - Patrick, Dipl.-Ing (chartered engineer in information technology)
